After a miscarriage Siri looks up the psychoanalyst Helenius to battle her grief. Bit by bit she confronts her past. The scene for the drama in Deserted is a barren island in the Bohuslän archipelago. In this strictly religious environment Siri grew up with her single father, who is a customs official and church host in the small village. A fateful mistake forces her off the island.
